The October 2018 meeting of the Kentucky Health Center Network Board of Directors was hosted by Big Sandy Health Care (BSHC) at their administrative office in Prestonsburg. Following the meeting, the group traveled to Physicians for Women and Physicians for Families in Auxier for a tour conducted by BSHC Director of Operations Suzy Shearer. The Physicians for Families building was opened in early 2018 and provides space for the expansion of services at the Auxier site, including adult and pediatric primary care and optometry services.
Big Sandy Health Care provides comprehensive primary care at its clinics in Floyd, Magoffin, Martin, and Pike Counties in southeastern Kentucky. In addition to physician-directed health care, five of the BSHC clinics have on-site laboratory, and four have pharmacy, x-ray, and dental services on-site.
