On September 17 Grace Health Women’s Care began providing services in a new 19,000 sq. ft. LEED certified facility. The new facility more than doubled the size, with the previous site providing only 9,000 sq. ft. of space. New space provides for expansion from nine exam rooms to 26, which is a great improvement given 10 providers practice at the site. The innovative clinic design also provides workflow efficiencies to decrease patient wait times.
The new space has a large lobby and breastfeeding areas. There are also three ultrasound rooms, each with a restroom and large enough for several family members to comfortably view the “new addition.” Neonatal stress testing space is available on site. Additionally, Grace Health Women’s Care provides opportunities for babies with drug addicted moms to give birth drug-free with the support of behavioral health professionals and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
The Mission of Grace Health is to show the love and share the truth of Jesus Christ to southeastern Kentucky, through access to compassionate, high quality, primary health care for the whole person. The mission for the new facility was expressed in the new space through a Holy Bible that is buried under the cross in the floor that all must pass over to get into the lobby. Also, before the first patient was seen, employees participated in a dedication prayer.
Grace Health Women’s Care is already receiving accolades from patients for being a warm, welcoming environment. To learn more about Grace Health, visit the organization’s website (http://www.gracehealthky.org/) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/gracehealthky.org/).
