The program, which was mostly virtual, culminated in a two-day in-person meeting in Washington, D.C. Participants met with representatives from NACHC, BPHC, and their respective state’s senators and representatives. In a meeting with Jim Macrae, Associate Administrator of HRSA’s Bureau of Primary Health Care, and other BPHC Staff, issues such as base grant adjustments, CHW billing and sliding fee scale, PCMH recognition, and FTCA coverage and AI were discussed. Lindsay also visited the offices of all Kentucky Senators and Representatives, providing the 2023 KHCN Annual Report and informative bullet points about HCCNs. Lindsay had scheduled meetings with staff from the offices of Senator Mitch McConnell and Representative Morgan McGarvey, where she discussed key health center issues, including 340B, telehealth, needed base grant adjustments, workforce concerns, CHWs, and mobile health.
